This weekend the White Ferns start their preparation for the ICC World Twenty20 which is starts in May in the West Indies. Although many players have been successful on the domestic scene, many haven't been able to transfer those skills onto the international stage. Gary Stead, coach of the White Ferns, will be overseeing this weekend's North v South competition at Lincoln, where the top players from each island come together to show the selectors they are good enough to participate at the World Cup.

International players at domestic level get away and succeed because they get more easy balls to hit and easier wickets to take – you don’t get that at the next level up," he said.   -Gary Stead

Rolls-Royce closed the Derbyshire Indoor Cricket League season by lifting the Arthur Honeybun Memorial Trophy at the Gateway Centre. They passed a stiff target of 145-3 set by Lullington Park in the final with three wickets and one-and-a-half overs to spare. Luke Bingham top-scored for Lullington with 33 but, when their score was 85-1 from six overs, it looked like their total might be a lot more formidable.
